Today marks the first day of the new Toastmasters term. I will be serving you as the District Director of District 80 for this new term.
I can sense the excitement of the new leaders at all levels in the District. Most of Club officers and District officers have laid out plans to bring their Clubs, Areas and Divisions to achieve higher levels of performance. I wish you success.
I also want to remind you that the term is the entire year. Treat it like a marathon rather than a 100 meters dash. Put your plans into actions, stay focused and be consistent. Face any obstacles boldly, overcome them courageously, and enjoy the journey. With that, I am sure you will be proud of the results you achieve by the end of
The Senior District Leadership Team has a vision for the District for this new term. Our Vision is: By the end of the term 2020/2021, District 80 will be a Stronger and Healthier District, with more clubs, more members and more Distinguished Clubs, where members enjoy learning, networking and having fun.
We are targeting at bringing the District to a Smedley Distinguished District level. This means that we need to have a net growth of 8% for both number of clubs and number of membership payments, and a minimum of 55% of our clubs achieve Distinguished Club status. These targets are achievable if every member works together towards
Covid-19 pandemic has caused significant changes to our lives. I am glad that most of us are adjusting well to cope with the changes. We even learn new things like holding online meetings and become more disciplined in keeping a higher level of hygiene. By the time the pandemic is over, and I am sure it will be, we will all emerge stronger and
