We understand that there are also many other clubs which have been working very hard but somehow are unable to achieve such status. Not to let down such clubs, we wish to reward them with some token appreciation if they are able to achieve certain education goals before the Bangkok Convention. The details are as follows:
1) Between the period from 16th April 2010 to 15th May 2010, if a club registers with TI successfully 2 CCs and 1 AC, the club will be presented with 2 manuals from the Advanced Communication Series during the May 2010 Bangkok Convention.
2) Within the same period, if a club registers with TI successfully 2 CCs only, the club will be presented with 1 manual from the Advanced Communication Series during the May 2010 Bangkok Convention.
This scheme is extended to benefit ALL the clubs within the District.
I wish you luck and hope to see you all during the presentation ceremony at the Bangkok Convention.
Best regards,

DG New Year Message 2010

Thursday, 31 December 2009
Dear Members,
Thank you for being with us on this Toastmasters journey, a journey to self-enrichment and self-fulfillment.
With the lapse of 2009, we have just passed the mid-point of the current term. This is a time for reflection.
As at 24.12.2009, we, District 80, ranked 12 worldwide in terms of both paid clubs and membership payments. As compared to the other Districts in the world, we have been able to keep ourselves on track. Let us give ourselves a pat on the back and say: “Well done!”
On educational achievement, we ranked 63 and 65 on Competent Communicators (144 CCs) and Advanced Communicators (56 ACs) awards respectively. In other words, we have not been working very hard in achieving our educational goals.
Don’t despair. The good news is: We still have another 6 months to catch up. For the next 6 months, let us do the following:
Call your Club Vice President Education saying that you want to present your project speech in the club chapter meeting.
Accord priority to attending club chapter meetings.
Volunteer to take up roles in chapter meetings.
Above all, remember to renew your Toastmasters promise.
Let us prove that we can do it!
A new year is like a new book. When we open it, all the pages are blank. What will subsequently be written down will be determined by our decision and action. To achieve your educational goals will definitely make the district performance look good, but this is secondary. The most important thing is that because you continue to practise, you will improve in your communication skills, i.e. you benefit from the Toastmasters program.
As quoted by Oprah Winfrey, "Cheers to a new year and another chance for us to get it right." Let us celebrate the coming of year 2010, and get our educational goals right!
Wish you all an awesome, fabulous, and prosperous new year!
Best regards,
Edward Ma, DTM District Governor District Theme: Toastmasters – Renew Your Promise!
